The new Early Learning and Childcare Centre was delivered as part of the MacMillan Hub which is home to Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare and Muirhouse Library.

Early Years Gardens

Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare has been designed as a two storey building with a circular inner courtyard. There are gardens for free-flow access on both lower and upper classrooms; the upper classrooms’ gardens are rooftop terraces that form a circle above the inner courtyard.

Our Early Years gardens are designed to be natural play areas, a space for nature to thrive and for children to nurture a love of the natural world. The spaces have been designed to encourage non-structured play to provide endless opportunities for all the creative ideas for play that children have.
